RENTAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. RENTAL REQUIREMENTS
To rent a car, the driver must be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver’s license, a credit card in their name. The driver’s license must be valid for the entire rental period, and the credit card must have sufficient funds to cover the rental charges, deposit, and any other additional charges.
2. RENTAL PERIOD
The rental period starts and ends on the dates and times specified in the reservation confirmation. If the renter wants to extend the rental period, they must contact us at least 24 hours before the scheduled return time to obtain approval and pay any additional rental charges.
3. RENTAL RATES
The rental rates are based on the rental period, type of vehicle, and any additional services or equipment requested by the renter. The rental rates do not include fuel, tolls, parking fees, fines, or any other additional charges. The renter is responsible for paying these charges directly.
4. PAYMENT
The renter must pay the rental charges and any other additional charges in full before the rental pickup. We accept major credit cards, cash, and traveler’s checks. Personal checks are not accepted. When an online payment has been mase, you should always carry the recipts with you, or have it handy on a digital device, as the rental service providor might need some additiona information.
5. DEPOSIT
We have no deposits ! 😀
6. INSURANCE
The rental vehicle is insured against damage, theft, and liability, subject to the terms and conditions of the insurance policy. The renter is responsible for any damage or loss to the rental vehicle, regardless of fault, up to the amount of the deductible specified in the rental agreement.6.1 ACCIDENTS AND DAMAGES
If you are “unlucky” and make a damage on the car (crash), that we have to fix, it will cost a self-insurance off 6000 DKK.
7. USE OF VEHICLE
The renter must use the rental vehicle in a responsible and lawful manner, and only for the purposes stated in the rental agreement. The renter is responsible for any damage or loss caused by use of the rental vehicle, including damage to the vehicle itself, other vehicles, and property.
7.1 DAMAGES
Any damages to the vehicle and other properties of the rental proder, should be reported immediately. Means of communication should be a written statement sendt to info@rent.fo. Optionally a phone call will be accepted, and a written statement will be provided by the rental service support, summarizing the oral statement given.
8. CANCELLATION
The renter may cancel the reservation at any time but may be subject to cancellation fees if the cancellation is made within a certain timeframe before the scheduled pickup time. The cancellation fees vary depending on the type of vehicle and rental period.
8.1 LATE FEE
If the vehicle is not safely returned to the designated return location, a late fee is charged, similar to the daily cost, of your rental agreement. Also if the car was booked by another client, and now doesn’t have access to the rental car. Additional fees may apply for loss of income, reputation damages, and management fee.
8.2 ADDITIONAL FEE
Additional fees generally only apply at the renters, customers, own volition. When you choose to book a vehicle, you will be offered additional options, products and services. These additional fees are seen in the order overview as-you-go through the order confirmation flow. And the total sum and choices of optional addidtional options are listed in your order, before you submit accept, and/or choose to pay online.
8.3 CANCELATION FEE
The renter may cancel the reservation at any time up tp 10 days prior to due-date for pickup. Failure to cancel within the time period prior to time of pickup, will result in a 50% fee of the total agreed upon price.
9. RETURN OF VEHICLE
The renter must return the rental vehicle on the date, time, and location specified in the rental agreement. If the renter returns the vehicle after the scheduled return time, they may be charged a late fee. If the renter returns the vehicle to a different location, they may be charged an additional fee. Failure to return rental vehicle within 72 hours after the due-date is a felony according to Faroe Law, if no agreement is made to prolong the rental period.
10. ADDITIONAL TERMS
Additional terms and conditions may apply to certain rentals or services, and will be disclosed at the time of reservation or rental pickup.
